Andrea Hernández is a Venezuelan photojournalist and National GeographicExplorer based in Caracas. She has a degree in Journalism from the UniversidadCatólica Andrés Bello. She worked for El Estímulo, a local web media for threeyears. Specializing in multimedia publications, one of her pieces merited a grant byNew Iberoamerican Journalism Foundation in 2017 and her team was awarded thebest news coverage by the Inter American Press Society. In 2018, she completedthe Documentary Practice and Visual Journalism Program at ICP, was shortlistedfor the Lucie Foundation’s Emerging Artist Scholarship, participated in the EddieAdams Workshop, was selected as a Women Photograph Mentee, and was given anIWMF Adelante Fellowship. She’s also been selected as one of the 30 Under 30Women Photographers by Artpil and included in PDN’s 30.
