Mariceu Erthal is a photographer born and based in Mexico, she uses documentaryphotography as a bridge to reflect and question humanitarian issues that cross the LatinAmerican territory. She uses the process of self-exploration and empathy as reflexivetools. She is a member of Women Photograph and in 2019 was selected by World PressPhoto as part of the six global talents of Central and North America, she was alsonominated for the Joop Swart Masterclass of this same organization (2019). Mariceu wasone of the winners during the Women Photograph portfolio review (Ecuador, 2019). Shehas been published in the online edition of World Press Photo magazine, Witness (May,2019), Story of the week in PH Museum, among others. Her line of work mixes imageand writing to reflect on social and political issues starting from an internal exploration.She seeks to link the image with a process that arises from reflecting and feeling thestories that she photographs.
