Tamara Merino is a documentary photographer and visual storyteller based in Chile focusing on human and socio-cultural issues, identity, andsubterranean communities. Her work has been published in multiple onlineand print publications worldwide including National Geographic, The NewYork Times, and The Washington Post, among others. Merino is this year’sMagnum Foundation Inge Morath winner. Other honors include beingselected for the World Press Photo Latin America Masterclass, the NewYork Times Portfolio Review, PDN’s 30, World Press Photo’s 6x6 GlobalTalent Program, and as an IWMF fellow. Her work has been exhibitedinternationally, including at Photoville and the World Press Photo exhibit inthe U.S., Germany, and Myanmar.
